IT and ITES skills training

2015

The LICT (Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance) project in Bangladesh was an initiative funded by the World Bank and implemented by the ICT Division of the Bangladesh Government. One major part of this project was IT and ITES skills training, which was carried out in collaboration with NASSCOM (India’s National Association of Software and Service Companies) and EY (Ernst & Young) as training and consulting partners.

  • Objective: To create a skilled workforce for the digital economy and increase employment in the IT/ITES sectors.

  • Training Areas: Focused on various domains like Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Web Development, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, and Soft Skills.

  • Global Standards: The course curriculum and delivery were aligned with international industry standards, thanks to EY and NASSCOM.

  • Institutions: Universities like Jagannath University, among others, were selected as training centers.

  • Certification: After completing the training, participants received certificates jointly acknowledged by the involved organizations.

  • Employment Linkage: The program aimed to link skilled graduates to local and international job opportunities.

  • Leadership: Leading or organizing mapping events, contributing as a trusted reviewer or moderator.
